When: Monday, August 21, 2023  2pm – 3pm and 6pm – 7pm

Exciting progress is being made by the JC Legacy Monument Database team led by University of Victoria’s Michael Abe curating the list of names of JCs forcibly uprooted from coastal BC, disambiguating 14,500 case files digitized through Landscapes of Injustice, plus researching over 30 other lists. The final list of names will be preserved permanently on a monument legacy wall at a location near the BC Legislature in Victoria.

We need your help
The Monument Database team is currently travelling to JC communities across Canada to introduce the monument project and share how the community can help ensure the names and place of origin are correct. Look for our booth at community outreach events or contact us via email. Scan the QR code to view an up-to-date database of names.
