The organization traces its roots back to social gatherings of Japanese families in Calgary before WWII. It was formally established as the Calgary Japanese Canadian Association in 1963 and officially incorporated in 1975, later amending its name to the current Calgary Japanese Community Association.Through its long-standing commitment to cultural preservation and community engagement, the CJCA plays a vital role in maintaining the Japanese cultural legacy in Calgary and beyond.
